This summer the climate crisis has accelerated at a frightening pace, with fires, floods, and drought causing destruction across the globe. Our planet’s warming by the use of fossil fuels threatens everything necessary to life: water, air, food, and shelter. The most vulnerable and least responsible, low-income people and communities of color are hurt first and worst. We have solutions – solar and wind power – but big oil corporations and their financial backers, like Exxon, Shell, BlackRock, Chase, and Citibank are blocking the transition to sustainable energy. On Sept 17, the day before the UN Climate Ambition Summit, the March to End Fossil Fuels will call on Biden to Declare a Climate Emergency, stop approving new pipelines, and invest in sustainable and equitable solutions. By marching, you send a powerful message to the government and oil/gas corporations that we will not allow them to destroy our planet!
