Our Mass Liberation Task Force is hosting the first Phone Zap of 2021 on Thursday, January 21st from 1-2pm.

Throughout the pandemic, judges have been issuing bench warrants for people who were not properly notified of their scheduled hearings. This is part of a larger problem of a negligent and inhumane First Judicial District that has refused to take the necessary actions to protect vulnerable populations in the Philadelphia prison system. In support of the Judge Accountability Table, we are pressuring the First Judicial Court for public Zoom access to virtual hearings where bench warrants are being challenged. We must keep the courts accountable!

During the one hour Phone Zap we will be contacting the First Judicial District and Philadelphia elected officials to demand public access to virtual hearings where unjust bench warrants are being challenged. Contact information for our targets and scripts will be provided to all participants.
