We are very pleased to welcome our own Cllr Sarah Tubbs to speak about her work in Cambodia as part of Khmer Ocean Life at our next members get together on Thursday July 27th.

Sarah is not only one of our very own Green Party councillors on North Northants and Kettering Town Council but also a marine mammal researcher and co-founder of the non-profit organisation Khmer Ocean Life, which works to conserve Cambodia’s marine ecosystems through marine megafauna focused research and conservation.

Sarah is currently also undertaking a PhD at Newcastle University, where she is researching population sizes, distribution and threats of endangered dolphin species in coastal Cambodia.

Sarah’s talk will focus on the urgent need for dolphin research and conservation activities, and detail how her and her group are working to find tangible conservation solutions.
