Jewish Voice for Peace San Diego (JVP-SD)'s chapter membership grew rapidly after October 2023. At the same time, the genocide in Gaza motivated us and our allies to take more visible action against Zionism. To handle the influx of new members and increasing demands on our organization, more than 20 chapter members have been working together to develop a new structure for the chapter. We looked at how other JVP chapters operate, consulted with JVP National, called upon our history in other organizations, and spent time talking about and analyzing options.

On Sunday, December 15, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., JVP-SD will host a virtual meeting to talk about changes our chapter is making to restructure on Zoom. It is our hope that the meeting empowers everyone to grow more connected and involved within the chapter by making member roles, responsibilities, and decision-making within JVP-SD clearer and more effective.

Additionally, as part of our chapter restructuring, JVP-SD has created a set of Member Agreements that all members need to sign. Our Member Agreements serve to ensure that we can struggle in a principled, impactful, and sustainable way together for Palestinian liberation. Our Member Agreements may change over time; if they do, we will all enter a collective process of changing them as needed.
