Let's get on board for Transit Equity Day! This national day of organizing and mobilization brings together unions, transit rider organizers and climate and environmental justice groups to act as one voice around February 4, Rosa Park's birthday, and to declare transit equity as a civil right.

La Crosse Area Transit Equity Days will start on Monday, January 29 with a media event at the Grand River Stateion Transit Center and continue through February 4, when we will honor Rosa Parks on her birthday with commemorations on buses and a film screening. In between, we'll share displays, rides, stories, events, and actions to highlight the importance of better public transit at all levels. We are still lining up co-sponsors for this annual event. We are joining the Labor Network for Sustainability and the National Campaign for Transit Justice to drive an urgent narrative: Our public transportation systems should be measured by how well they service riders.

Our unified national mobilization will be to escalate pressure on our decision makers to win fully-funded operations and service. Good service drives Equity, Cools the Climate, Provides good union jobs, and Strengthens our economy.
