Labor Network for Sustainability 2025 Labor Convergence on Climate
October 24-26, 2025
Charlotte, North Carolina
We invite labor leaders, rank-and-file workers, and climate justice advocates from key sectors and geographies to join us for the 2025 LNS Labor-Climate Convergence “From the Shop Floors to the Frontlines “ on October 24-26th in Charlotte, NC, to align strategies, build power, and take collective action against anti-worker attacks, corporate climate control, and the escalating climate crisis.

Purpose
The purpose of the LNS 2025 Labor-Climate Convergence is to deepen relationships between the labor, climate, and environmental justice movement to build power through joint strategy and collective action.
We are at a defining moment: Without worker leadership, we will not stop climate catastrophe. Without climate action, workers and communities will suffer. The next five years—especially 2028—are critical for shaping the future of labor, climate, and democracy. If we do not act now, we will be fighting for survival in a world where corporations control the economy, public services are gutted, and climate disasters devastate working people.
LNS has hosted previous national Labor Convergences on Climate where we built strong foundations for labor-climate organizing. But time has run out. The return of the Trump administration and the growing influence of corporate elites like Elon Musk threaten to:
Privatize and dismantle the public sector, attacking transit, postal services, education, and government jobs.
Destroy labor rights and unions, undermining worker power through deregulation and contract rollbacks.
Accelerate fossil fuel expansion, worsening climate disasters while promoting false climate solutions that benefit corporations, not workers.
Undermine democracy, stripping workers and communities of the ability to fight back through elections, collective bargaining, and public institutions.
To resist these attacks and secure a just transition, labor and climate movements must organize together, aligning strategies across industries and geographies to ensure worker power drives climate action, not corporations.
The labor movement is the only force capable of disrupting the economy to demand real climate solutions. Without worker power, climate policies will be dictated by corporate interests that prioritize profits over people and the planet.
This Convergence is a space for labor and climate movements to build together. For years, corporate forces have tried to divide workers and climate activists—but we know that climate justice and economic justice are inseparable.
