With the new Unitary Authority / Council elections due in May 2027 we need to start work building a team that will win seats and take control of the new council!

Running this council is possible and together we can make a huge difference across West Kent. Look at what happens when Greens run councils!

There will be 84 seats up for grabs across 28 wards and we could win enough to be the largest party but we are going to need to work hard over the coming year.

That work starts with learning what it is like to be a councillor, meeting other potential members of the team across the four current local parties (Maidstone, Sevenoaks, Tonbridge and Malling, and Tunbridge Wells) and working on a plan to get elected!

If you would like to be part of the team, either as a candidate, coordinator, leafleter, canvasser, media person, or any other role, then please come along on 12th September. Everyone who is interested in elections, campaigning and supporting is welcome.

We will cover:

• what the new council will do
• what the wards will be
• what it is like to be a councillor (best job in the world BTW)
• how we will organise ourselves
• what work is involved for people elected
• what work is involved to win the election i.e. the 7 month election plan
• how we communicate with residents and each other
• etc.

Lunch will be served at 1pm followed by the workshop
