In recent times, anti-terrorism legislation is being increasingly deployed against activists domestically, and used to sanitise the Western imperialist project globally. The response of the activist is often to attempt to distinguish activism from terrorism in the eyes of the law, and to campaign for a 'just' application of the label, often failing to consider that the mechanisms are functioning as intended.
