Young Emerging Activists (Y.E.A.) is hosting an honorary vigil on Friday, June 19, at Camera Park, Glendale Heights, IL,. This organization of youth leaders works to build a long lasting relationship between the youth and our leaders. Through conversations, live events, and educating, Y.E.A. aims to dismantle systemic racism within its community and surrounding areas. One of the issues the organization hopes to eliminate is police brutality. The murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, Tamir Rice, Tayvon Martin, Oscar Grant, Sandra Bland, Walter Scott, Tanisha Anderson, and many others is why “Young Emerging Activists” is passionate about correcting this historical issue and ensuring that past victims did not die in vain. “Lift Ev’ry Voice: We Remember” will serve as a peaceful time of reflection in honor of the lives taken too soon.
