Come join us for Madison Area DSA's 2026 Annual Chapter Convention! We will be holding elections for chapter officers, re-chartering working groups, debating and voting on resolutions, and more! Additional programming includes plenary discussions on electoral partybuilding and the road to a general strike (with special guests from other DSA chapters), a chapter org fair, and a post-convention social at the Labor Temple Bar on Saturday evening.
See this guide for more information about how convention works and keep an eye on chapter communications for more updates. If you're a member, getting on the chapter Slack is the best way to stay up-to-date with chapter news!
Convention schedule:
Friday 3/20: 6pm-9pm with pizza dinner provided
Saturday 3/21: 9am-5pm with Teddywedgers lunch provided, optional 8am-9am coffee social hour
Vegan/vegetarian options will be available for all meals. Food will be ordered based on RSVPs received by Friday, March 13th, so be sure to RSVP early so we can make sure everyone is fed!
Requirements and expectations:
Masks are required except for while eating or speaking into a microphone. Masks can be provided to all who RSVP by March 13th. This requirement does not apply to children under 5.
Members are welcome to bring their children if needed. Some activities will be provided to occupy our younger comrades, and a few volunteers will help watch children for caregivers wishing to participate in motivation and debate.
There will be a livestream of the convention proceedings available, but you will need to attend in-person to debate and vote on chapter business. If you are not able to attend in-person but would still like to vote on the business at hand, please remember that you can nominate another member as a proxy voter to vote on your behalf! To designate a proxy, please use this form to indicate when you will need another member to serve as your proxy. If you have any questions about proxy voting, please consult Article IV Section of the chapter bylaws (found here) or send an email to dsamadison@gmail.com.
