Instructions for Participants (also on the RSVP)

We will gather on Westminster Road by the Whalley Hayes Car Park (Methodist Church) at 10:55 on Saturday, June 7, with the ride commencing at 11:00. Expect to pass through South Park around 11:15 to pick up additional riders by the old pavilion at South Park. Our route will take us through town to Waters Green, where we will need to dismount and push our bikes up to Mill Street and on to the Town Hall. If everyone is up for it, we may repeat the route a couple of times. The event will conclude at the Town Hall with brief remarks from Green Party campaigners for Macclesfield Central, John Knight and Rachael Marlow. Please remember to bring whistles and flags to wave, and we will cycle slowly, riding two abreast.

The protest route features a steep incline on Queen Victoria Road and a section on Mill Street where cyclists will need to dismount and push their bikes. If road noise is a concern, participants can join at South Park near the Pavilion, though be aware of some steep paths in that area. We will maintain a pace that accommodates the slowest rider.
