We’re coming together for a Make Polluters Pay Week of Action this January 26-30 to kick off the push for a Make Polluters Pay Agenda, climate superfund, and climate insurance legislation in states across the country.

To kick off this week of action we'll be having a press conference at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 26th in our nation's capital. This press conference and kickoff event will also serve as the introduction date for D.C. councilmember Janeese Lewis George's Make Polluters Pay bill. The councilmember will be speaking at the event, as will other local leaders and a Member of Congress.

January is the start of the 2026 legislative session and we want to come out of the gate with strong support for climate superfund bills and other polluter accountability measures.

The Week of Action will feature new bill introductions, op-eds, lobby days, social media pushes, floor speeches, press conferences, tele-town halls, rallies, petition deliveries, and more – all designed to start the year with as much momentum as possible.

We’re looking to organize events in states with existing climate superfund campaigns, as well as new states where we think the make polluters pay message can resonate in 2026. This fall, we’ll be running a big petition drive to recruit as many new supporters as possible to plug into this effort.
