Host Contact Info: storytelling@603equality.org

We are inviting you to an evening of storytelling to learn more about the lives of local transgender and nonbinary people, in an intimate and inviting environment.  Storytellers will share their lives at some depth, with humor and openness: transition, healthcare, schools, challenges, successes, hopes, and fears.  Following individual sharing, we will open the floor to thoughtful questions and reflections.

Our shared goal is to become seen as human beings, worthy of empathy and equality. The current political adversity is fueled by the fact that most Americans do not know trans+ people as such, and this event aims to bridge that cultural gap with openness and honesty.

Suggested age range: Adults and students 11 years old and up! Stories may include content related to medical content, alcohol use, bullying, mental health, and diagnosis.

There will be a social gathering with food and beverages immediately following the event.

We encourage you to share this invitation with friends and family who are interested in better understanding transgender and nonbinary people.

We are also seeking art and poetry from trans, nonbinary, and intersex community members of all ages to display on the walls during the event. Reach out to us at storytelling@603equality.org if you are interested in sharing your work.

Accessibility: Manchester True Collaborative has an elevator goes to the second floor and there is an accessible entrance on the Chestnut St side of the building (to the right if you are looking directly at the front doors of the building), which contains a flyer with the office number so if someone needs to be let in they can call and we can come let them in.

We strongly encourage masking for this event, as and will have masks and pronoun pins or name tags available. Currently, wastewater COVID levels are testing HIGH for seacoast NH and central Massachusetts. Plus, the FDA is trying to prevent individuals from accessing updated COVID vaccines unless they are 65+ / have an underlying condition.
This event is organized by 603 Equality. Feel free to email us at storytelling@603equality.org if you have questions or specific accessibility needs.
