March 2nd: PA Poor Peoples Campaign Mass Mobilization in Harrisburg
WHEN: 11:30am Gather and eat lunch at Grace United Methodist Church in Harrisburg.
On Saturday March 2nd the Poor People’s Campaign will hold simultaneous mass poor people’s and low wage worker statehouse assemblies at State Capitals across the country in more than 30 states including here in Pennsylvania.
- 800 people are dying from poverty every day in the U.S. Poverty is the 4th leading cause of deathin the U.S.
- The 140 million people in this country who are poor and low income are a sleeping giant. Our job is to wake them up! We have to take action together in order to do this and this mobilization is part of that.
- This is part of an arc of activity between now and the election that leads up to it and contains the following parts:
- Tuesday February 20th - press conferences to announce statehouse actions and our legislative demands, and meetings with state legislative leadership to make our demands clear.
- Saturday March 2nd - mass assemblies.
- Monday March 4th - demand delivery to elected officials in statehouse.
The Poor People's Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival challenges the interlocking injustices of systemic racism, the war economy and denial of healthcare, ecological devastation, poverty, and the distorted moral narrative of white supremacy.

El sábado 2 de Marzo, la Campaña de la Gente Pobre tendra asambleas masivas simultáneamente de personas pobres y trabajadores de bajos salarios en las capitales de los estados de todo el país en más de 30 estados, incluido aquí en Pensilvania.
800 personas mueren de pobreza cada día en los EE. UU. La pobreza es la cuarta causa principal de muerte en los EE. UU.
Los 140 millones de personas pobres y de bajos ingresos de este país son un gigante dormido. ¡Nuestro trabajo es despertarlos! Tenemos que actuar juntos para lograrlo y esta movilización es parte de eso.
Esto es parte de un arco de actividades desde ahora hasta las elecciones y contiene las siguientes partes:
Lunes 5 de Febrero: reunión con los líderes estatales electos de ambos partidos para anunciar 40 semanas de acción antes de ls elecciones.
Lunes 19 de Febrero: conferencias de prensa para anunciar acciones en la cámara estatal.
Sábado 2 de Marzo - asambleas masivas.
Lunes 4 de Marzo: Entregar nuestras demandas a los legisladores en el capitolio
La Campaña de Los Pobres: Un Llamado Nacional Para El Renacimiento Moral desafía las injusticias entrelazadas del racismo sistémico, la economía de guerra, y la negación de atención médica, la devastación ecológica, la pobreza y la narrativa moral distorsionada de la supremacía blanca.
Programa del dia:
11:30 am Reúnase y almuerzo en una iglesia cerca de la capital del estado (ubicación por ser determinada)
12:30 PM (Corta) Marcha a el Capitolio del Estado
1 PM Asambleas masivas de los pobres y de los trabajadores con salarios bajos
3pm: Finaliza la Asamblea
