For almost 20 years, our pay, living standards and public services have been hammered by cuts - and local councils are still facing austerity.

Now, we have a new government an an opportunity to fight for change.

On the eve of Andy Burnham's first Budget, we will gather to demand an alternative: an ended to the rigged, failed economic model, and investment in our communities and public services.

Join us. Let's end austerity.

Accessibility Information

What to expect
It's an evening march and rally so it will be noisy. You may want to bring headphones or ear defenders. It will be dark by the end, and it's a weekday evening, so expect crowds.
The march starts at Victoria Embankment and finishes with a rally at Downing Street.
Rough timings
March assembles and speeches: 6pm
March sets off: 6.30pm
Rally and speeches: 7:15pm

You're welcome to come straight to the rally outside 10 Downing Street from 7.15pm if that works better for you.

We will try to ensure there is space at the front of the rally for disabled people especially those with mobility impairments.

Stewards
There will be stewards along the route in bibs. We don't have an on-the-day phone line, so please find a steward in person.

Getting there and leaving
Westminster tube station is nearest to the rally and is step-free on the Jubilee line, but may be busy.
Charing Cross is also a close train station. Embankment is close but is not step-free.

You can leave the march at any of these stations, or by bus. Check TfL for live updates: tfl.gov.uk

Toilets
Parliament Street (exit 6, Westminster Station): accessible, £1, open 7:30am-8:30pm.

More options, including RADAR key toilets, on Toilet Map (toiletmap.org.uk). Check opening times, as some close before the evening.

Somewhere to take a break
St James's Park: somewhere to get away from the crowds.
Pret a Manger, 49 Tothill Street: a place to sit down with a cheap coffee.
The Abbey Centre: about a 15-20 minute walk.

This demo has been organised by volunteers on a small budget - apologies we have not been able to arrange BSL, live captioning or a dedicated quiet space.
