March for Clean Air: Stop Dumping on Newark!
Despite Governor Murphy's environmental justice goals and clean energy commitments, there are two new major polluting projects proposed in the Ironbound: the PVSC power plant and the Aires sludge plant.
March with us to demand clean air on November 10! After a short rally we'll march together from the Sharpe James/Kenneth A. Gibson Recreation & Aquatic Center to the site of the proposed fracked gas power plant the Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission has proposed to build at their wastewater treatment plant.
Date: Wednesday, Nov. 10, (Rain Date: Tuesday, Nov. 16.)
Time: 3:30 PM
Location: The March will leave from the Sharpe James/Kenneth A. Gibson Rec Center at 226 Rome Street, Newark.
Vehicles transport will be available along the march route, as well as bussing back to the rec center at the conclusion of the march.
