March in the Labor Day Parade with Central Iowa DSA!

Monday, September 7, 2026
Parade begins at 11:00 AM

Central Iowa DSA will be marching in the Labor Day parade along side our union brothers and sisters on a special invite from the Iowa AFL-CIO.

Please RSVP if you plan to march with Central Iowa DSA.

Where to Meet

You can join our group in one of two places:

Option 1: Iowa State Fairgrounds between 8:00 - 9:45 AM
Park inside the main gate on Grand Avenue at the Iowa State Fairgrounds. Buses will run beginning at 8:00 AM to transport parade participants to the State Capitol. Get there early, the bus fills up fast.

Option 2: Iowa State Capitol before 11:00 AM
Meet us near the east side of the Capitol. Parade staging will be in Parking Lot 16 at Des Moines Street and E. Grand Avenue because of construction near the Lucas Building.

If you're meeting us at the Capitol and need help finding the Central Iowa DSA group, reach out to us on Discord.

What to Bring

Wear your red DSA shirt if you have one! We'll have chapter banners to carry and candy to distribute along the parade route.

The parade begins at 11:00 AM and ends back at the Iowa State Fairgrounds.

We Need Rideshare Volunteers!

We're looking for members who can help provide transportation after the parade, especially for participants who may need help getting between the Fairgrounds and the Capitol.

If you need transportation assistance or have questions about meeting up with the chapter, reach out in Discord so we can coordinate.
