The MD Break the Bonds campaign has won a major victory. Maryland's State Retirement and Pension System (MSRPS) divested 85% of the Israeli bonds that it held less than 12 months ago, after over a year of community campaigning. That's more than $62 million dollars of public money that's no longer directly supporting Israel's mass human rights abuses.

Join MD BtB and dozens of our coalition partners and endorsers to celebrate the win and to demand that Maryland FULLY divest from Israeli bonds.

What to expect:

This event is both a call to action and a celebration! We will gather at 3pm at McKeldin Plaza where we'll enjoy refreshments from a Palestinian caterer and hear powerful speakers from advocacy partners. At approximately 3:45 we will march to the MSRPS office to deliver hundreds of handwritten postcards calling for full divestment from Israeli government bonds and investment in our communities. By approximately 4:30pm we will return to McKeldin Plaza to hear from more advocates and faith leaders, enjoy musical and poetic performances, and get a group dance lesson in Palestinian dabke. Please join us, whether for part or all of the afternoon!
