We, as youth, are amazing creators and leaders whose voices are often overlooked. AYPAL’s May Arts Festival aims to provide a space for us to raise our voices through art activism to tell our stories and provide insight into our world(s). We use the arts to draw attention to the issues we face every day. We also use the arts to celebrate the beauty and diversity of our unique cultures. Art allows more ways to convey messages, open up conversations, and invite others to reimagine the world beyond the status quo. As we work to collectively heal, we must acknowledge and understand the challenges we face, make room for hope and inspiration, celebrate our wins, and embrace joy. This free festival will take place at Lincoln Square Park and is open to the public on Saturday, May 11th!
