The MDC DSA Steering Committee has voted to set the dates for the 2023 Local Convention for Saturday, December 9 to Sunday, December 10, 2023. Each day will start at 12:00pm and end at 5:00pm with a few breaks in between. Saturday at the Shaw Library (1630 7th St NW, close to the Shaw Metro) and Sunday at the Thurgood Marshall Center (1816 12th St NW, close to the U Street Metro).

Local Convention is an opportunity for the full chapter to introduce and debate priority campaigns, general resolutions, bylaw amendments, and considerations for political candidate endorsements for the 2024 primary election. The convention planning team has been formed and will be headed by Steering member Carl R. The Steering election for the 2024 term will occur concurrently with convention and will be managed by a separately constituted internal election administrative department in AdCom.
