MEJA Winter Assembly 2018

Start: Saturday, December 15, 201811:00 AM

End: Saturday, December 15, 2018 6:00 PM

We're bringing together the students, parents, educators, and the whole MEJA community for a MEJA Winter Assembly. Building off of our statewide convening in the summer, we will be planning our path forward for the new year, talking about the campaign to fund our public schools and colleges, and holding sessions on testing, privatization, student debt, the school-to-prison pipeline, student power, and much more. We will hold youth-only breakouts, a PHENOM meeting, and other special sessions by member organizations.

We'll also discuss the public education landscape following the election and going into the new legislative session on Beacon Hill. School privatizers are trying to co-opt social justice language to advocate for more charters and vouchers, and they have a friend in Governor Baker. We need fully funded public schools and colleges where teachers have the freedom to teach and students have the freedom to learn.

Join us at the MEJA Winter Assembly to fight for the funding we deserve!

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to email us at info@massedjustice.org. We cannot wait to learn, build, share, and join in the fight with you.
