Mennonite Action Bay Area - God’s Love Knows No Borders
Start: Saturday, March 08, 2025•10:30 AM

During the months of February and March, Mennonites from across the country are taking action - through public worship services - to proclaim that God’s love knows no borders! On Saturday, March 8, Mennonite Action Bay Area invites you to join us as we witness to this truth!
Mennonite and Anabaptist communities have a 500-year tradition of vocally opposing the marriage of religious authority and state authority. Our allegiance is to God, our charge is to love our neighbor, and our neighbor is not defined by national borders.
We ask: is the immigrant, the stranger, the oppressed, the refugee, the prisoner to blame for our country’s current divisions and strife? Or is it the rich, the politicians, the emperors, those who hoard wealth and use their power for violence, coercion, and domination, who have created the divides we now struggle to traverse?
As followers of Jesus - who was a refugee child escaping genocide and a Palestinian Jew living under occupation - we are deeply troubled by the state violence directed at our vulnerable neighbors in the Bay Area and across the world.
We believe our liberation and safety are tied together with our neighbors, near and far. Our tax dollars pay for bombs that drop on children living in Gaza, and ICE raids that deport our immigrant sisters and brothers, tearing families apart. We say no to this violence and stand with our neighbors who are targeted.
We are meeting on a busy city street corner, a place where people come and go freely, to honor migration as a human right. We also recognize we are on occupied Ramaytush-speaking Ohlone land, and lament our complicity in land theft and genocide, as we stand with the people of Gaza and the West Bank who are committed to staying on their ancestral land.
We call on fellow Christians, people of faith, and others to speak out and to act with us - boldly stating that God’s Love Knows No Borders. Are you a Christian, a person of faith, or simply a person who cannot look away from the pain and the harm that our government is inflicting upon the vulnerable? We invite you to join us in prayerful public action on March 8 at 10:30 am in San Francisco.
