When the pandemic started, experienced and brand-new sewists around the world cranked up their machines and got to work, making hundreds of thousands of masks to help healthcare workers and regular people stay safe while the authorities took their time ensuring that masks would be made available en masse.

Two years later, high-quality masks are readily available and more or less affordable, and the current strains of COVID are more virulent, so the demand for home-crafted masks is down to nearly nothing.

But there are lots of us who still want to sew! Whether we caught the sewing bug for the first time, rediscovered a love of this craft, or simply have yards upon yards of fabric that just need to get used up, we're asking... what's next?

Join us for a casual crafty roundtable where we'll discuss useful sewing projects that we can take on to keep the solidarity stitchin', plus touch a bit on the politics of it all, and the way that often-societally-sidelined feminized labor keeps making its way to the heart of urgent mutual aid needs.

Other crafters are welcome, too! Knitting, crocheting, jewelry-making, whatever you're into, you're welcome here!
