Try as we might to focus on the silver linings--the pockets of hope, emerging community support, and possibilities for connection--there is an undeniable presence of grief and loss in this moment. At the same time, our isolation means that many of the ways we’ve become accustomed to processing grief, loss, disappointment, fear, and anxiety are unavailable to us. Join us in a sacred circle to make space for our grief, loss, fear, anxiety, and mourning. Co-facilitated by ML Daniel of Spiritual Alchemy and Rebeka Ndosi of Healing Illuminated, this circle offers a space for participants to feel and begin to process their grief.
In the words of our facilitators:
There comes a time when our very souls need space to wail. Space for our grief to be known and felt as we call the names of those at risk, those who are sick, and those who have died. We need space to grieve what has been lost, to lament dreams to which we have given our life blood that we must now surrender to a new normal. Space to mourn those parts of ourselves that we have found no longer serve us, and that must be left behind if we are to thrive. Space to name our fears, uncertainties and anxieties so they do not consume us.
Our souls need space to wail, and our wailing deserves a witness. A witness that will not look away, but will invite us more fully into ourselves and our collective humanity. Wailing is a spiritual practice that cuts across all cultural and ethnic lines, and invites us to uncover and draw from the wisdom of our ancestors, our culture, and our rituals in times like these to sustain us. So if you are feeling the heaviness of the moment, please join us, knowing that your tears are welcomed to flow, and you are encouraged to give voice to your lament and what you are mourning.
About Mycelium: Mycelium means simply "more than one,” and is also the name of the intricate root system that mushrooms use to sustain the expansive underground network that nourishes them and the ecosystem in which they live. In the words of Adaku Utah, “This mycelial network cannot exist without trust. . . . These mushrooms affirm our commitment to build relationships of trust that encourage all life to bloom.”
In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, Resonance Network began holding a series of online gatherings with the name Mycelium, in the spirit of the network that exists in the natural world--a space for participants to be in deep relationship, and in the kind of beloved community we know will sustain us.
