7:30 a.m. Registration & Breakfast opens
7:45 a.m. DSA Jax meets up outside of the library building to enter together
9:00 a.m. Opening
9:30 a.m. Plenary: The Fight for Community Control of the Police & Justice in the Deep South
11:20 a.m. Plenary: Political Repression in the South
12:20 p.m. Lunch

More about NAARPR's Southern Regional Organizing Conference:

This December 6-8, the National Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression is convening our inaugural Southern Regional Organizing Conference at the main library in downtown Jacksonville, Florida. This conference will bring together progressive forces in the South fighting for Black liberation, indigenous rights, land sovereignty, resisting police crimes and political repression, and advocating for the release of those unjustly incarcerated while defending all progressive movements striving for a just society.

NAARPR, which arose out of the Movement to Free Angela Davis, was refounded in 2019 with over two dozen branches and affiliate organizations nationwide. Since the 2020 George Floyd uprisings, NAARPR has seen growth in new organizing struggles in cities across the country—especially in the Black Belt region of the Deep South.

As we gather in Jacksonville, we recognize that Florida has been home to some of the harshest forms of political repression in recent years. Across the South, similar repression is rampant. However, NAARPR branches and affiliate organizations, notably in Jacksonville, Tampa, Tallahassee, New Orleans, Atlanta, the DC area, Dallas, and Charleston, have made significant progress in fighting back and building the people's struggle.

The NAARPR Southern Regional Organizing Conference will be an opportunity to learn from organizers across the South and to unite our movements. We call on all those nationwide to join us. By uniting our efforts, we become invincible!
