Two weeks ago, the world learned the truth about the killing of Tyrin Johnson. Members of the National Guard, deployed to Memphis last September by Gov. Bill Lee & President Donald Trump, shot Tyrin in the back.

$300+ million of tax payer dollars have been spent on the National Guard’s occupation of Memphis over the past year. These are dollars that could have been spent on violence prevention initiatives, education, housing, & community improvement in your neighborhood.

The Shelby County Commission has the power to hold Governor Lee accountable for this illegal deployment of the National Guard to Memphis by signing onto a lawsuit. A number of Commissioners understand the importance of standing up to the Governor’s actions. Other Commissioners still need to hear from you about the true human and financial cost of this militarized occupation.
