New Brunswick City Council Meeting on Code Blue with Community Member Assistance

Come help us bring community members to the New Brunswick City Council Meeting to talk about Code Blue! We will be providing rides for community members from Pittman Park to the New Brunswick City Council Meeting (78 Bayard St. New Brunswick, NJ 08901).
The New Brunswick City council plans to again provide only 20 spaces in the warming center.
That is unacceptable! The program is greatly unstaffed for the quantity of vulnerable individuals as well as the increasing
DSA is dedicated to building solidarity and growing local power. We support bringing marginalized voices to the forefront to speak on issues that impact them.
To that end, let's support bringing those most impacted to the New Brunswick city council, specifically those without houses or those at risk. Please fill out the form on action network if you can come speak, or if you can help us bring community members from Pittman Park to City Hall.

When temperatures reach 32 degrees or below, or the wind chill is below 0 for more than two hours, Middlesex County declares a Code Blue per New Jersey State Law: P.L.2019, c.427. When a Code Blue is declared, participating municipalities open warming centers for unsheltered individuals.
