New York City, Manhattan Community Circle

Start: Monday, May 11, 202607:00 PM

IfNotNow is excited to invite you to participate in our Community Circles Program.

What are Community Circles? In a painful and uncertain moment — amid the devastation in Gaza and rising authoritarianism at home — Community Circles offer a small, supportive space for Jews to come together. Community Circles are small groups of 6-8 people who will gather for five sessions. Through relationships and learning, we’ll deepen our understanding of how to move forward with integrity, courage, and care. This program is free of cost.

Each Community Circle will be led by 1-2 facilitators, supported by IfNotNow. Through learning and honest discussion, we will:

  1. Monday May 11 from 7-9: Share our own stories and build community and relationships around shared experiences, as well as difference

  2. Monday May 18 from from 7-9: Reflect on antisemitism and inherited trauma

  3. Monday June 1 from 7-9: Learn about anti-Palestinian racism and explore our own biases

  4. Monday June 8 from 7-9: Engage with Palestinian narratives and histories

  5. Monday June 15 from 7-9pm: Explore what we can do as Jews to fight for a better and more equitable future

We hope that you can attend all five sessions, but no one will be turned away for needing to miss one or two.

We intend to create an open and welcoming space grounded in care and mutual respect. We will focus on challenging ourselves, listening deeply to one another, and strengthening our commitment to justice and human rights.

Who are Community Circles for?

Any self-identified Jewish person who believes in the inherent value and dignity of all Palestinians and Israelis and wants to explore narratives that are often absent from mainstream Jewish spaces is welcome to participate in this program.
