7 months into Trump's presidency, as the Administration continues to unlawfully defund life-saving programs that aid communities after extreme climate disasters, threaten laws intended to prevent such disasters, and strip protections meant to safeguard our climate and stop catastrophic warming, New York Leaders have a chance to step up and lead the country in taking action to tackle the climate crisis.

New Yorkers are ready for bold, progressive legislation and leadership to ensure our city doesn't roll over to meet the demands of a fascist president who denies what we all know to be true--that the climate crisis is right here, right now.

With extreme and deadly high temperatures becoming the norm, subway stations flooding every time it rains, and droughts and fires ravaging our city, we must demand action from those in power and celebrate those who show their dedication to the fight for a livable future.

We can have a world where the most vulnerable among us do not have to bear the brunt of the climate crisis, and where our livelihoods are not threatened by funding cuts, climate disasters, and authoritarianism. That world starts here in New York, with our leaders standing up to Trump.
