Our Planet, Our Future: New Jersey Call to Climate Action

Despite the worsening climate crisis and our state's commitment to protect environmental justice communities, Governor Murphy's administration wants to spend $10 Billion on a disastrous Turnpike expansion in Hudson County.

On June 4th, thousands of local residents will participate in a mass bike ride through Jersey City for the annual "Ward Tour" event. This is a perfect opportunity for us to speak with community members who are directly threatened by turnpike expansion proposal.

Our goal is to collect 500 petition signatures calling on Governor Murphy and Hudson County officials to reject this massive polluting project, and to instead invest in modernizing and expanding clean and affordable public transit in New Jersey.

With clipboards and petitions in hand, we'll fan out through the crowd of cyclists before the ride starts and again at the finish line. There will be two shifts so you can join us for one or both.

930am - 11am (meet on the grass in front of Jersey City Hall, 280 Grove Street)

330pm - 5pm (meet outside the Starbucks, 15 Exchange Place, Jersey City)

We will hold a training beforehand and provide everyone with the materials you need for a successful day of community outreach!

This action is part of Our Planet, Our Future, a week of actions calling on Governor Murphy to stop the seven proposed dirty energy projects threatening New Jersey. Join us for other actions throughout the week!
