Tell Hochul: No Trump Pipelines in New York!

Donald Trump is trying to force major fracked gas pipelines through New York. On August 9, we’re standing up to tell Governor Kathy Hochul that New Yorkers expect her to reject these dangerous projects, just like the state has done before.

President Trump claims that Hochul “caved” to his demands and agreed to revive long-dead fracked gas pipelines, including Williams’ Constitution and NESE pipelines. So we’re taking to the streets for a family friendly march to let Hochul know that New Yorkers won’t accept any deal that hands our state over to the oil and gas industry. Their pipelines would pollute our air and water, harm our health, and worsen the climate crisis. Moreover, everyday New Yorkers must not be left paying more for dirty pipelines while Trump’s fossil fuel cronies reap the profits.

Governor Hochul must uphold the legally binding promise of a “cleaner New York” in the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA), New York State’s landmark climate law, rather than cutting backroom deals with Trump. Since Trump’s election, Governor Hochul has already approved the Iroquois fracked gas pipeline expansion, siding with private utilities and the fossil fuel industry. Now, with the renewed push to break ground on new pipelines here in New York, we need to know, “Governor Hochul, which side are you on?”

We must fight back. Our lives, health, family, friends, and everything we love and care about are on the line. Together, we can win – that’s how we defeated these pipelines the first time around. When we organize, we’re stronger than the oil and gas industry’s money, but we must speak up now before it is too late.
