No Muslim Ban Ever Rally
Start: Wednesday, October 18, 2017• 5:30 PM
End: Wednesday, October 18, 2017• 6:30 PM
On October 18, the United States State Department will implement a revised Travel Ban from 6 Muslim countries (Chad, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Syria & Yemen) and 2 Non-Muslim countries (North Korea & Venezuela). Travel will be broadly suspended, while in other cases, travelers will have to undergo enhanced screening and vetting requirements. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said in a statement that with the new restrictions, "the President is carrying out his duty to protect the American people."
The Muslim and refugee bans are discriminatory, unconstitutional and inhumane in the same vein as the Chinese Exclusion Act, the Japanese American incarceration, and special registration after 9/11.
We must remember history and mobilize against any targeting of our communities.
Join us in declaring #NoMuslimBanEver on October 18 and stand in community with our Muslim, newcomer, and immigrants brothers and sisters.
