NO TAX BREAKS FOR BILLIONAIRES CARAVAN
Start: Tuesday, April 15, 2025•11:00 AM

Rep. Nick Lolota (NY-1) and Rep. Andrew Garbarino (NY-2) and their congressional colleagues are moving ahead with radical plans to take away health care from tens of millions of people across the US --hundreds of thousand of Long Islanders-- in order to pay for EVEN MORE HUGE tax cuts for billionaires, special interests, and big corporations.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump's main henchman Elon Musk --the world's richest person-- and his shady (if not illegal) "DOGE" operation have arbitrarily closed down IRS offices across the country at the very height of the tax season, and arbitrarily fired IRS staff here on Long Island.
Join fellow Long Islanders to:
- Take to our cars to drive the message home to both Reps Lalota and Garbarino that tax cuts for the wealthy at the cost of Long Islanders lives should never even be considered.
- Call -out the very real threats by Congress to Medicare, Medicaid, and the Affordable Care Act, as well as funding for our hospitals, community health centers, nursing homes, and home care programs.
- Call for Reps. Lalota and Garbarino to publicly speak out against these proposed draconian health care cuts to pay for tax cuts, and to protect these vital federal health care programs.
- Urge Reps. Lalota and Garbarino to instead require big corporations and the ultra-wealthy to "pay what they owe" and "pay their fair share" of taxes, so that health and human service programs can be adequately funded, improved, and expanded to help many more people live full and productive lives.
- Call on Reps. Lalota and Garbarino to hold an in-person public town hall to explain her positions, and hear from her constituents.
We'll be starting things off with a press conference outside the Rep. Garbarino's office (31 Oak St, Patchogue NY 11772) at 11am, then we will deliver a statement and report on the how the Billionaires don't need major tax breaks at the cost of Long Islander's health and lives Rep Garbarino. Then we hop into our cars and start the caravan to Rep. Lalota's office in Hauppauge to deliver this same message by 12 noon.
