Tomorrow, tens of thousands of people at hundreds of events across the country (and beyond!) will be taking action to stand in solidarity with Standing Rock.

Event Details:

Where: 1114 S. Oak Street, La Crescent, MN 55947

When: 10am - 12pm

Parking: On-street parking is available on S. Oak Street.  There is also a public parking lot a couple blocks away at La Crescent Community Ice Arena on S. 14th Street.

Things to bring: Posters, Banners (see artwork ideas), smart phones, jars of water from home, warm clothing (forecast is for 60s but morning hours can be brisk), non-violent attitude

Things to Consider: This is a peaceful action in solidarity with the water protectors at Standing Rock.

1. This is a non-violent action.  Abide by public law, the Army Corps of Engineers Field Office is in a private building. Our group is restricted to public right-of-ways (sidewalks and road sides) but we should not obstruct traffic or any pedestrians.
2. Please do not dress up in Native American clothing/makeup unless it reflects your own heritage and customs.
3. Most importantly remember this action is to stand in solidarity with Standing Rock to protest Dakota Access Pipeline and to call on the Army Corps of Engineers and President Obama to revoke permits for this project.  Other local groups are welcomed to participate but remember to support our central message.

Social Media: Please take photos and share messages on Facebook, Twitter, etc. using the hashtag #noDAPL

Speakers: This event will have an open microphone for speakers that may want to speak about their local groups or local activists that want to share their stories in support with Standing Rock.  Please contact me at randerson529@gmail.com to be placed on a list of speakers.
