Join us for a day-long training and campaign organizing retreat for SURJ-TC and Unidos community members, and folks working on the Target Campaign*
This day will help us:
- build our skills in:
- nonviolent direct action (NVDA) principles, planning and roles
- campaign organizing and strategy
- build our relationships with each other
- build our capacity to fight the authoritarian takeover, defend democracy and advance immigrant rights and racial justice!
What if you don't think "direct action" is your thing? This training will build key skills relevant to campaign organizing (and beyond), whether you apply them to "direct action" or not. (Plus, you may find there's more to direct action than you previously thought!).
The twin cities-based training team has decades of experience organizing in movements for racial, economic and environmental justice, direct action training and practice, and includes longtime SURJ-TC leaders who are also organizing with Unidos.
Join us so together we can build our capacity to meet the moment in 2026!
*Target Campaign: Many Unidos and SURJ-TC community members are working on the Unidos-led corporate campaign to demand that Target speak up against the ICE crackdown and authoritarian takeover, and FOR immigrant rights and preserving our democracy. We will use this campaign as a central theme and work with examples throughout the training related to the campaign. However, this training will be relevant to folks who are not working on this campaign as well.
