$15 Billion Before It’s Too Late: Fund Climate Justice Now!

Start: Tuesday, March 08, 202210:00 AM

End: Tuesday, March 08, 2022 2:00 PM

March 8, 2022 will be a day to remember.

On Tuesday, March 8, New Yorkers from across the state will flood the streets of Albany to demand $15 billion for climate, jobs, and justice. This is the capstone action in the NY Renews budget campaign, and it could be the one that pushes us over the top. But to get the $15 billion our state needs, we need you.

Join us on March 8th as we tell our leaders that we need to see $15 billion in the New York State budget, because climate justice—and our communities—can't wait any longer.

Ready to join us in Albany? We'll be coordinating buses, vans, and carpools from major areas across the state. You can select your transportation needs in our RSVP form.

Due to Covid-19, we will require everyone to be fully vaccinated and masked. We highly encourage the use of KN95 or N95 masks.

We'll see you at the Capitol!

Schedule for March 8, 2022

10:00 am — First up: Gather at East Capitol Park! To start the day, we’ll meet to drink coffee, eat breakfast, and prepare any last-minute signs and materials.

11:00 am — Rally time! We’ll be led by a marshall who will go through the day’s agenda, and we’ll have a few speakers there to remind us why we need $15 BILLION in the 2022 budget! This section will include a crowd activity where individuals and groups can shout out why they need $15 billion big ones, too.

11:30am-12:00pm — March to the governor’s mansion! This march will take approximately 15 minutes, and there will be a faction of folks who stay on the lawn to hold down the fort (this will allow for people with a range of accessibility needs to remain involved throughout the action).

12:00-12:30 pm — Return to the Capitol

12:30–1:30pm — Rally and press conference

1:30–2:00pm — Lunch and prepare departure
