Join us for the NYC-DSA Queer Caucus for a movie night (and discussion) on Sunday, March 17! We'll meet at the NYC-DSA office (14 Jefferson St) at 5pm. All are very welcome!

We’ll be screening Pride (2014). Directed by Matthew Warchus, Pride is a historical drama chronicling the British miners strike of 1984—and the queer activists who organized in solidarity with their struggle, at the outset of what would become the Lesbians and Gays Support the Miners campaign. The film is a story of rising up against common enemies—in this case, Maggie Thatcher and the cops—and the power, pleasures, and challenges of building political coalitions. According to the critics, it is “earnest without being didactic and uplifting without stooping to sentimentality.” Sign us up!
