The NYC Transgender and Queer Provider Advocacy Coalition (NYCTQPAC) is celebrating a major victory: a $13.725 million increase in funding for Transgender New Yorkers in the FY26 NYC Budget.
This win sends a clear and urgent message: With a $116 billion budget, New York City must invest in Transgender leadership, health, housing, and education—without delay.
A historic $3.5M investment in a new fund for Gender Affirming Care for Transgender Youth is a statement of how New York City is supporting the health, lives and voices of Transgender youth and is necessary for a safe healthcare for gender expansive youth and rejects the federal government's vicious attacks on the Transgender community.
Transgender children, adults, and elders are vital members of the NYC community. It is the city's responsibility to uphold and protect everyone’s right to bodily autonomy, healthcare, housing, and safety. This funding is not just a financial commitment—it is a recognition of dignity, resilience, and the undeniable presence and power of Transgender New Yorkers.
We will continue to demand equity, visibility, and justice! This is what community power looks like!
