Featuring:

  • Helen Peacock (WBW South Georgian Bay Chapter) is the founder of Pivot2Peace, a local peace group in Ontario, Canada, which is part of the Canada-wide Peace and Justice Network. She is a Positive Peace Ambassador for the Institute of Economics and Peace, and a Chapter Coordinator for World BEYOND War. She is a Canadian peace advocate, and speaker who has presented on the topic of World Peace to groups around the world including Russia, China, India, Australia, Europe, and North America. Helen is on the Board of the Rotary Action Group for Peace (RAGFP). She was instrumental in creating the online Ending War 101 Educational Program (EW101), which is co-sponsored by RAGFP and World BEYOND War, and she is currently the Chair of the EW101 Organizing Committee. In September 2022 and again in November 2023, she served as a Civil Society Observer for RAGFP at meetings at the United Nations. And for two years, as D7010 Peace Chair, she led a grassroots movement in Rotary to support a Resolution for a world free of nuclear weapons.
  • Marion Transetti (WBW Senegal Chapter) started her peace activism at a very young age. She was indeed, at 7 years old, the one who people came to ask for help in order to manage conflicts in the schoolyard. Later, Marion continued relentlessly her Peace mission in several countries around the world and within many organizations including Amnesty International. In love with Africa (she lived in Nigeria, Ivory Coast, and now Senegal), she wants to provide her active support to Peace initiatives which already exist everywhere in Senegal and on the continent in order to contribute to the development of a united and serene Africa.
  • Barry Sweeney (WBW Ireland Chapter) is a Chapter Coordinator for the World BEYOND War Ireland and Italy chapters. He is from Ireland and based in Italy. Barry’s background is in education and environmentalism. His love for environmental understanding led him to many progressive projects in Ireland, Italy, and Sweden. He became more and more involved in environmentalism in Ireland, and has now been teaching on a Permaculture Design Certificate course for 5 years. In 2017 and 2018 he organized peace symposia in Ireland, bringing together many peace/anti-war groups. And in 2019, he organized World BEYOND War's annual #NoWar2019 Conference in Ireland. Barry has been a facilitator for World BEYOND War’s online courses "War Abolition 101" and “Leaving World War II Behind.”
  • Vanessa Fox (she/her) is an Organizing Intern with WBW, pursuing her Master's Degree in the Art of Social Change at Starr King School for the Ministry, specializing in war and genocide abolition. She has been an activist for 25 years and has experience in petitioning, door-to-door canvassing, fundraising, media outreach, and direct nonviolent action for numerous human, animal, and environmental justice causes. She will continue to be a volunteer with WBW following her internship and looks forward to doing even more for WBW!
  • Greta Zarro (she/her) is World BEYOND War's Organizing Director. She manages WBW's chapters and affiliates around the world. Greta has a background in issue-based community organizing. Her experience includes volunteer recruitment and engagement, event organizing, coalition building, legislative and media outreach, and public speaking. She previously worked as New York Organizer for leading non-profit Food & Water Watch. There, she campaigned on issues related to fracking, genetically engineered foods, climate change, and the corporate control of our common resources.
