Next Wednesday, 13 June, we at Our Revolution Howard County are combining a short member meeting (starting at 7pm) with viewing the third televised debate between the candidates vying to be the Democratic nominee for Governor (8:00-9:30pm, WMAR-TV, Channel 2). We will have the event at Kelsey's Restaurant & Irish Pub in a private room with a large-screen TV.
The short member meeting will cover electoral activities (door-knocking, early-voting, June 26th fliers at voting locations), report on statewide Our Revolution actions, local work (e.g., internal education,communications, environmental, Medicare for all, liaison with other Dem/progressive organizations, etc.)
If you want to simply watch the debate with like-minded friends, just show up by 8pm, when the televised debate begins. All are welcome!
Dinner meals and drinks will be available through the restaurant and bar.
We are requesting a voluntary contribution of at least $10. We will send 90% of the contributions for flood recovery in Ellicott City - through the Howard County Community Relief Fund. The money raised for the Relief Fund will go toward the immediate needs of the people affected by the floods — not the physical reconstruction of Ellicott City. (The rest collected – that 10% - should cover our set-up and other costs for the evening's event.)
P.S. In the meantime, we are door-knocking on every Saturday for our endorsed candidates anddirecting our members and friends to individual campaigns on Sundays. We will also cover polling sites over the early-voting days (starting on the 14th, the day after our debate-watch) and on Election Day itself.
