Palestine Strategy 101: Palestine Legal

Start: 2024-03-26 20:00:00 UTC Eastern Daylight Time (US & Canada) (GMT-04:00)

This is a virtual event

As more and more socialists heed the urgent call to push for a long-term ceasefire in Gaza and an end to Israeli apartheid, it is crucial to translate our support for Palestinian liberation into specific, effective action. On Tuesday, March 26, from 5-6:30pm PT/8-9:30pm ET, join the National Political Education Committee; Dylan Saba, Staff Attorney at Palestine Legal; and NPC member and attorney Renée Paradis on Zoom for a webinar on strategy toward a free Palestine, with a focus on the U.S. legal context around pro-Palestine action and legal defense of advocates.

We will discuss both big-picture strategy issues (How does Palestine Legal connect to other movement strategies and organizations? What are the major legal concerns for pro-Palestine activists at the moment? What should DSA members and chapters think about in determining their own approaches?) and nitty-gritty best practices (What steps should people take to keep themselves safe in protest, rally, and other contexts? What legal rights and dynamics should activists consider when planning or plugging into actions?). There will also be time for Q&A with Dylan and Renée, so come with questions!

The training (apart from the Q&A) will be recorded. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to politicaleducation@dsacommittees.org with any questions. We look forward to seeing you soon!
