Palestinian and Israeli Co-Resistance - Hear from Standing Together activists (Bristol event)
Start: Wednesday, January 14, 2026•06:00 PM
End: Wednesday, January 14, 2026•08:00 PM
Despite a "ceasefire agreement" being in place in Gaza it is a ceasefire in name only. At least 350 Gazans have been killed in attacks since October of this year, bringing the death toll in Gaza since October 2023 to 70,000. Israeli forces now control 60% of the Gaza strip with Gazans made to live in the remaining 40% of the enclave.
Settler violence in the West Bank and East Jerusalem has continued and in some cases escalated. Israeli forces continue to occupy parts of southwestern Syria, which were invaded after the fall of the Assad regime.
Standing Together is the largest grassroots movement anti-occupation movement in Israel made up of Jewish-Israelis and Palestinian citizens of Israel. Throughout the annihilational war waged by the Israeli government, they were the largest movement calling for a ceasefire, a hostage-release deal, an end to the occupation, and calling on Israelis to refuse to serve. They successfully pushed back Israeli settlers blocking aid into Gaza, ran an "Aid to Gaza" campaign, organised the largest marches for a ceasefire in Israel and much more.
Most recently, Standing Together organised protective presence in the West Bank during the Palestinian olive harvest and organised a 1,500-person conference to continue and grow their movement.
Join us on Wednesday 14th January, 6pm, Redland Quaker Meeting House (126 Hampton Rd, BS6 6JE), where we will hear from Standing Together activists - Mina Tatour and Shahar Shilo - as they talk about the situation in Israel-Palestine and the importance Jewish-Palestinian co-resistance.
Doors open at 6pm, with speakers starting at 6.30pm. We will have both speakers lead off and then we will take questions and contributions from the floor.
