Our healthcare system isolates us at our most vulnerable—and that isolation is not an accident. It’s by design.
More debt. More denials. More impossible choices.
And this crisis didn’t start today. For years, patients have been fighting for care alone—on hold with insurance companies, battling hospital billing departments, or standing at pharmacy counters wondering how they’ll afford the medicine they need.
That’s why we’re building The Patients Union—and why we want you with us at the very beginning.
What is a Patients' Circle?
Patients' Circles are small, facilitated conversations where patients and caregivers come together to share experiences, name what’s broken, and help shape what a patients' union should look like.
We don’t have everything figured out yet—and that’s intentional. What we build together now will determine how strong this union becomes and how much power we can wield in the fights ahead.
We’re dreaming of a patients' union where:
- We support each other instead of suffering in isolation
- Private struggles become public fights for the common good
- We organize across race, class, geography, and politics
- We build real power to take on corporations profiting off our pain
- We experiment, take risks, and grow stronger together
This is your union. American healthcare isn’t working for you. Your union will.
If you’re navigating the healthcare system yourself—or caring for someone who is—and want to help shape what comes next, we hope you’ll join us.
