Please join us for the 9th installment in our Peace & Justice Conversations Series: Indigenous Peoples' Day and the Myth of Columbus. October 12,  7 pm.

The myth of Columbus is an important part of historical erasure of the genocide of native peoples.

In Vermont, and in many cities around the country, Columbus Day is no longer celebrated, and people instead dedicate this day to remembering the story of the indigenous people of this land.

Join Paul and Denise Pouliot the speakers of the Contoocook band of the Abenaki, as they talk about the state of the movement to rename this day and talk about the experience of living in Central New Hampshire as a descendant of the people who lived here before European Colonization.

COVID 19 has brought us to a new moment of reckoning and possibility. How do we want to live in the world? What do we value? How can we make the changes we've been yearning for? NH Peace Action has been engaged in working for change for decades. We'd like to take this moment to bring you into some conversations about issues and options for the future. Our new online abilities make it possible to come together across the state more easily to connect, learn and work for peace and justice. This bi-weekly Zoom series hosted by NHPA members will offer different topics of discussion for each session. Be part of the conversation!

You will receive Zoom link and instructions with your RSVP.  (Make sure to scroll down past the green "Thanks for your support" block to see the Zoom link)
