Peace & Justice Conversations: How to Have Difficult Conversations
Start: 2025-09-22 19:00:00 UTC Eastern Daylight Time (US & Canada) (GMT-04:00)
This is a virtual event
As partisanship continues to grow in our society, expanding itself outside of politics and into nearly every aspect of our life, even the thought of having these politically charged conversations is tiring. Leaders in multiple sectors of our society continue to sow the seeds of anger and hate, causing many people to go down rabbit holes of outrage. Watching this occur around us often causes a mix of confusion, sadness and anger as we strive to understand what is going on. Our conversations at the dinner table, school board meetings, and even the grocery store become battlegrounds, and we struggle to protect ourselves and help others see the truth. Kevin Blanchette will go over a straightforward and balanced approach to managing these conversations, while also maintaining our mental energy.
Kevin Blanchette is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, adjunct professor at New England College, and trainer. He specializes in working with people struggling with trauma and psychosis, and helping others in improving their interpersonal skills. Through research and experience talking with people struggling with psychosis, Kevin has developed this approach to navigate through challenging conversations characterized by entirely different world views. These strategies have been shared with many diverse groups, from health care providers, to parents, to everyday people, allowing them all to feel more confident about their conversations.
NOTE: This program replaces The Collision of Antizionism and Antisemitism, which will be rescheduled.
