Peace & Justice Conversations: Report from the West Bank

Start: 2025-06-02 19:00:00 UTC Eastern Daylight Time (US & Canada) (GMT-04:00)

This is a virtual event

Lefty Morrill recently returned from a month with Community Peacemaker Teams in the West Bank of Palestine; a place where the air itself seems to carry the weight of grief and defiance. CPT-Palestine is building partnerships to transform violence and oppression. They support Palestinian-led, nonviolent, grassroots resistance against the Israeli Occupation, through solidarity and advocacy. Through images and stories, Lefty will share what he saw and what he felt. The slow unraveling of a people’s dignity, the quiet resistance in everyday life, the unbearable ordinariness of suffering. He will speak of devastation, but also of unyielding hope by the people.

Michael “Lefty” Morrill is the organizing director of New Hampshire Peace Action. He has shown a commitment to building a better future in labor, community, environmental and faith-based organizations. He was the founder of Greyroots Action, the largest network of progressive American elders and the executive director of Keystone Progress, a cutting-edge community organizing and communication program involving dozens of unions and other progressive organizations. He has spoken on policy issues in hundreds of venues in more than a dozen countries.

About NHPA’s bi-weekly Zoom Peace & Justice Conversation Series: 2020’s upheavals brought us to a new moment of reckoning and possibility. How do we want to live in the world? What do we value? How can we make the changes we’ve been yearning for? NH Peace Action has been engaged in working for change for decades. We’d like to bring you into these conversations about issues and options for the future.  There is no charge to attend, but your contributions in any amount are greatly appreciated.
