Due to the critical nature of the COVID-19 pandemic and the ongoing need for support for those who struggle with substance use disorder, The Pennsylvania Recovery Advocacy Project (PA-RAP) will be hosting virtual town hall on June 18th @ 6:00pm EST. We urge members of the recovery community, allies & stakeholders statewide to participate in this discussion.
The resiliency of an individual who is seeking or maintaining their own recovery relies on the community they are a part of. Do they have access to treatment, harm-reduction services, aftercare, housing, and employment? Is our state providing appropriate support during & post incarceration? Are they granted opportunities to participate civically, and are they being treated like a respected member of that community? All of this and more play a part in people getting and staying well.
Among the matters that will be discussed will be updates on the Purdue Pharma opioid lawsuit and bankruptcy case. It is vital that the money that is being offered in reparations for what has happened is being used to support our community’s needs.
As a resilient community, we must come together to focus on solutions and how we will get through this trying time together. This conversation will impact the work that we all do to support community members of Pennsylvania in all stages of recovery. This is why WE NEED YOU!
*Once you RSVP you will receive Zoom instructions
