Public Hearing: The People’s Voice on TVA’s Energy Plan

Start: Thursday, January 25, 2024 1:00 PM

End: Thursday, January 25, 2024 8:00 PM

Electric companies like the Tennessee Valley Authority make plans and decisions that have a big impact on our lives - from the cost of our electric bills to pollution in our air and water, whether or not our lights stay on during extreme weather and the health of our climate. It's incredibly important for community members and local leaders to have a real voice in the long term plan for how we produce the electricity that will power our homes and communities over the next several decades. At this Public Hearing, we invite the public to watch engaging and thought-provoking presentations from experts and join robust community discussion about the future of our energy system in the Tennessee Valley.

This event will be held in person at the beautiful Second Presbyterian Church on Belmont Boulevard in Nashville, TN and will also be lived streamed for online participation.

  • Presentations from energy experts: 1-4:30pm CT (2-5:30ET)
  • BREAK: 4:30-6pm CT
  • Community discussion and listening session: 6-8pm CT (7-9pm ET)

This event is being organized by: Appalachian Voices, Energy Alabama, Southern Alliance for Clean Energy, Sunrise Nashville, Center for Biological Diversity, Climate Reality Project: Memphis and Nashville chapters, and Vote Solar.

We invite you to be part of this conversation where we will learn and discuss important topics that impact our communities.
