Petition to help save & expand transit in the Peninsula

Start: Saturday, April 13, 2024 1:00 PM

End: Saturday, April 13, 2024 3:00 PM

Transit in the Peninsula is in a dire state! For the region to meet its climate, economic growth, affordability, air quality, public health, and justice goals we need drastically improved transit service. We have a chance to pass a bill that sets the stage for a major increase in transit funding to the Peninsula, so come help educate and engage voters to speak out in favor of funding transit.

The more San Mateo County voters sign on to the petition telling their State representatives and transit boards to support transit funding, the better chance we have of getting the funds our region needs. Help us get SB1031, the “Connect Bay Area Act” bill passed into law!

Event details:

Meet out front of the Redwood City Caltrain Station at 1pm on Saturday April 13th to get trained up, partnered with a petitioning buddy and a stack of petitioning flyers. We will then go out into the neighborhoods to pass out flyers, educate people about transit, and get folks to sign the petition.

Afterwards, volunteers are invited to join a no-host outdoor happy hour at City Pub on Broadway at 3pm to de-brief and celebrate a job well done.

It can get hot so we recommend bring sunblock, water, a hat and a positive attitude.

The petition we'll be promoting is here.
