Join Pine Belt Humanists as we participate in the Great Southeastern Pollinator Census, a community science project that helps researchers learn more about the pollinators that play an essential role in our ecosystems.
We'll meet on the University of Southern Mississippi campus at the "Lofty Return" golden eagle statue before heading out to observe and count pollinators. No special experience or scientific background is required. Just bring a writing utensil, your curiosity, and a willingness to spend some time outdoors!
- A count sheet, if you have one (we'll also have some available)
- A pen or pencil (we'll have some pens, but bringing your own is encouraged)
- Water and sunscreen
- Comfortable shoes and clothing appropriate for spending time outdoors
Can't make it to the group count? No worries. You can count pollinators wherever you are in Mississippi! You can count with a buddy or count solo; it's the counting that...counts!
